چکیده
In this paper, we investigate wave attenuation caused by mangroves as a porous media. A 1-D mathematical model is derived modifying the shallow water equations (SWEs). Two approaches are used to involve existing of mangrove: friction term and diffusion term. The will be solved analytically using separation variables method numerically staggered finite volume method. From both methods, transmission coefficient obtained observe damping effect induced Several comparisons shown examine accuracy robustness numerical scheme. results show that coefficient, vegetation’s length have significant on coefficient. متن کاملHigh-order Numerical Methods for Wave Propagation in Porous Media
Groundwater is a hugely important resource in both developed and developing countries and makes up over 90% of the world’s freshwater. The idea behind our work is to use wave scattering in saturated porous media to quantify aquifer state and hydraulic properties. We initially focused on solving related inverse problem using the Specfem software to model coupled elastic/poroelastic waves. Of par...

Contrary to the traditional view, seismic attenuation in Biot's theory of uid-saturated porous media is due to viscous damping of local (not global) pore-uid motion. Since substantial inhomogeneities in uid permeability of porous geological materials are to be expected, the regions of highest local permeability contribute most to the wave energy dissipation while those of lowest permeability do...

One major cause of elastic wave attenuation in heterogeneous porous media is wave-induced flow of the pore fluid between heterogeneities of various scales. It is believed that for frequencies below 1 kHz, the most important cause is the wave-induced flow between mesoscopic inhomogeneities, which are large compared with the typical individual pore size but small compared to the wavelength. Vario...

When studying the structural response of rubble mound breakwaters to wave loading, the knowledge of water surface fluctuations, pore pressure variations and related wave attenuation inside the porous structure is important since the pore pressures affect most responses, such as wave run-up, wave overtopping, reflections, transmission and the hydraulic and geotechnical stability of the breakwate...
